The Ambu bag is a manually operated device used to provide artificial breathing to patients unable to breathe independently. Also referred to as the silicone manual resuscitator, it is used in situations where the heart stops beating, patients are unable to breathe normally, cases of extreme asthma, and the transportation of patients. The automatic self-inflating silicone bag uses either room air or oxygen at a maximum rate of 10–15 liters per minute. GSTC produces and exports ambu bags for adults, children, and newborns.
