Udyog Aadhar was a simple online registration system introduced by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India get official recognition without complicated procedures. Entrepreneurs could register their businesses using their Aadhaar number and basic business details through a quick, paperless process. After completing the registration, the enterprise received a Udyog Aadhaar Number (UAN), which worked as a unique identity for the MSME. With this registration, businesses could receive benefits like subsidies, financial support, government schemes, and easier access to bank loans. It also helped improve trust and credibility in the market. In 2020, the government replaced the system with Udyam Registration, which provides a more advanced digital registration platform. Udyog Aadhaar made MSME registration fast, simple, and beneficial for small business owners in India.
